Boeing supplier to build aerospace facility in Clark

MANILA, Philippines – Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) has secured a long-term lease agreement with a Washington-based supplier to aerospace giant Boeing, as it pushes to develop Clark into a hub for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.
In a statement on Wednesday, CIAC said Heatcon Asia Inc., the regional arm of the composite repair solutions provider, signed a 25-year lease agreement to establish a manufacturing, material distribution and in-shop composite repair facility within the Clark Civil Aviation Complex.

Heatcon manufactures hot bonders, heat blankets and process materials used by commercial and military aviation operators, including Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company. It also manufactures infrared heating systems, vacuum sources and pneumatic assemblies.
CIAC said the facility will serve not only the Philippine market but also support Heatcon’s operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
“This investment represents a significant milestone in Clark’s continued emergence as a leading aviation and aerospace hub,” said CIAC president and CEO Joseph Alcazar. “Heatcon’s facilities support major aviation players in the region, including Boeing.”
According to Alcazar, the investment supports CIAC’s broader goal of transforming the more than 2,300-hectare Clark Civil Aviation Complex into the country’s aviation capital.
This bid is expected to be supported by the expansion of Lufthansa Technik Philippines, which is preparing to establish a major MRO facility in Clark following a lease agreement signed in May. INQ
