FDI net inflows slowed in March as war clouds outlook

MANILA, Philippines – Foreign direct investment inflows into the Philippines fell to a two-month low in March, adding to signs of softer capital flows as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East cloud the global economic outlook.
Net inflows totaled $611 million, the weakest monthly reading since January, according to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas data. Even so, the figure was 26.1 percent higher than a year earlier.

Net FDI inflows amounted to $1.7 billion in the first quarter, down 17 percent from the same period last year. The BSP projects inflows of $7.5 billion for 2026. /pai INQ
