Mindanao grid placed under yellow alert after strong quake

MANILA, Philippines – The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) has put the Mindanao grid under yellow alert on Wednesday following the impact of the strong magnitude 7.8 earthquake on large power plants.
In an advisory, the grid operator said the yellow alert would take effect from 12 noon to 3 p.m.

The average capacity is recorded at 2,731 megawatts (MW), while the peak demand is pegged at 2,611 MW.
