Visayas grid back under yellow alert on June 10

MANILA, Philippines – The Visayas grid was placed under yellow alert for five hours on Wednesday as three major coal plants remained offline.

In an advisory, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said the yellow alert will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The grid operator said the Visayas has 2,556 megawatts (MW) of available capacity against a peak demand of 2,423 MW.
