Globe to expand Lucena network with campus cell site

MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom Inc. is set to install an on-campus cell site in Lucena City, Quezon to broaden network coverage in the area and improve connectivity for nearby communities.
In a statement on Monday, the Ayala-led telco said it had signed a partnership with Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), one of Quezon province’s top universities, for the construction of the facility.

This project builds on Globe’s earlier school-based network initiatives, including a cell site established at the University of Mindanao in 2021.
“The infrastructure we bring will deliver reliable connectivity to where it matters most: schools, communities, businesses, and young Filipinos preparing for the future,” said Darius Delgado, Globe chief commercial officer.
“We are building stronger network access in Lucena and laying the foundation for digital learning, local economic growth, along with youth empowerment,” Delgado added.
Globe said the facility will strengthen mobile coverage within the university and surrounding communities, supporting access to online learning platforms, research tools, cloud-based applications and other digital services.

Apart from establishing the cell site, Globe said it would onboard MSEUF into its Digital Thumbprint Program, which promotes online safety, digital citizenship and responsible use of technology.
The telco is also exploring partnerships with the university involving curriculum support, cybersecurity, data analytics, internships, mentorship programs and industry projects.
