MANILA, Philippines — The Visayas grid would be placed under yellow alert status anew on Monday amid projected strong electricity demand despite the unavailability of some coal power plants.

In an advisory, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said the Visayas would be under yellow alert from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In a yellow alert, the power supply can still meet demand, but it will serve as a warning that when a plant breaks down one way or another, it will result in brownouts.
