Shakey’s core income down 20% to P952M in 2025

MANILA, Philippines — Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures Inc., the listed restaurant business of the Po family, saw core net income fall 20 percent to P952 million in 2025, amid weak discretionary spending and expansion costs.
The company said on Thursday that softer consumer demand, especially in the second half, weighed on earnings despite continued investments in store expansion.
Systemwide sales rose 14 percent to P24.8 billion, while revenues grew 11 percent to P16.1 billion.
Shakey’s opened 351 new stores, bringing its global network to 2,970 units, as it pushed growth despite a challenging operating environment.

Same-store sales remained flat, with weaker casual dining demand partly offset by strong performance of kiosk brands like Potato Corner.
Higher expansion-related costs and softer sales also led to margin pressure, with headline net income declining 32 percent to P816 million. /dda
