MANILA, Philippines — DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has secured regulatory approval to operate in South Africa, marking a key step in its planned global expansion.

In a disclosure on Thursday, the digital entertainment platform led by tycoon Eusebio Tanco said it had received licenses from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) to enter the South African market.

The approvals cover three licenses: a national manufacturer license, a bookmaker license and a bookmaker premises license, allowing broader gaming operations.

Western Cape is South Africa’s largest online gaming hub, accounting for about 31 percent of national revenues in 2025, supported by strong digital infrastructure.

The market generated an estimated $4.9 billion in gaming revenues in 2025, making it a prime destination for international operators like DigiPlus.

South Africa will be DigiPlus’ second overseas market after Brazil, where the company targets full commercial operations within the first half of 2026. /dda
