Cebuana Lhuillier extends ₱13 million Protectmax Insurance Coverage nationwide
Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers (CLIB)—the insurance arm of the Philippines’ leading microfinance services provider Cebuana Lhuillier—strengthened nationwide fire preparedness by extending around ₱13 million in microinsurance coverage to families in fire-prone communities across the country, bringing greater protection and peace of mind to households, in observance of Fire Prevention Month.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), paired fire safety education with accessible financial protection—reinforcing that preparedness must go beyond awareness and be backed by meaningful protection that helps families recover from unexpected risks.
“Protecting our kababayans means ensuring they have both the knowledge and the financial support to face unexpected risks,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier. “Through efforts like this, we continue to expand access to protection that helps communities stay resilient in the face of life’s uncertainties.”
Across vulnerable communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, including areas in Metro Manila, Negros Occidental, and Misamis Oriental, families received microinsurance coverage together with fire safety education sessions led by the BFP on prevention, emergency response, and risk reduction. Participating households were also provided Ligtas Kits containing emergency essentials, reinforcing household readiness while complementing their protection.
Central to the initiative is ProtectMax Insurance, CLIB’s innovative insurance product designed to expand access to practical and affordable protection. By making coverage simpler and more
accessible, ProtectMax Insurance enables families—particularly those in high-risk communities— to secure an added layer of financial protection against fire and other covered incidents, helping strengthen confidence, security, and peace of mind at the household level.
“Preparedness becomes more meaningful when families know they are protected financially,” said Atty. Isagani Acosta, General Manager of CLIB. “Through ProtectMax Insurance, we are able to bring relevant and accessible protection closer to communities that need it most, helping ensure families are better prepared and better equipped to recover when emergencies occur.”
The initiative highlights the value of public-private collaboration in strengthening fire preparedness nationwide, demonstrating how partnerships between government and the private sector can help communities better manage everyday risks. Through programs like this, CLIB continues to advance innovative and inclusive microinsurance solutions that help Filipino families stay protected, secure, and resilient.
