Megaworld, Samsung to roll out AI-powered homes
MANILA, Philippines – Megaworld Corp. has teamed up with Korean tech giant Samsung to roll out artificial intelligence (AI)-powered homes this year as demand grows for smarter and more connected living spaces.
In a disclosure on Monday, Megaworld said the initiative would begin in select Megaworld projects, starting with Park McKinley West in Taguig City.

Under the collaboration, Samsung will integrate a comprehensive AI-powered ecosystem into Megaworld’s “next-generation” residential units.
Megaworld said the move positions the company at the forefront of AI-enabled living in the local real estate industry, combining its township development expertise with Samsung’s SmartThings platform.
The system serves as a centralized digital hub that allows residents to manage and personalize their homes using a single mobile application.
Through SmartThings, homeowners can create automated routines based on time, weather conditions, device status and user behavior.
These routines allow residential units to adjust automatically to occupants’ daily habits, enhancing convenience and efficiency.
Unlike basic home automation, Megaworld’s AI-powered homes are designed to respond intuitively to users.
Features include intelligent climate control, adaptive lighting, voice-activated commands and energy optimization systems that help manage power consumption more efficiently.

Megaworld said buyers of its residential condominium units may opt to convert their homes into AI-powered spaces by integrating Samsung devices, such as televisions, washing machines, air-conditioning units and other compatible smart appliances into the SmartThings ecosystem.
Francis Viernes, Megaworld’s head of business innovation and transformation, said: “Innovation is central to Megaworld’s vision of shaping future-ready communities. Through our AI-powered homes initiative, we are redefining residential living by creating intelligent spaces that enhance comfort, safety and sustainability across our townships.”
“This marks an important step in how we continue to elevate the living experience and set new standards for modern township developments,” he added.
The company said the rollout builds on its iTownships program launched nearly a decade ago, which focused on embedding digital technology and connectivity into its master-planned communities.
Megaworld’s move comes amid increasing AI adoption among Filipino households. A recent study cited by the company showed that nearly half of Filipinos use AI-powered tools at least once a week, with Generation Z leading AI usage.
