BIZ BUZZ: Hizon goes back to TV, joins ANC

After just close to six months in the corporate world, award-winning broadcast journalist Rico Hizon is going back to his first love—television. Starting next week, Hizon will host a weekly 30-minute talk program on ANC, the premium news channel of ABS-CBN.

Called Beyond the Exchange, Hizon’s show will air on Tuesdays at 6 pm before the TV Patrol airing on ANC. It will also be seen on the ANC 24/7 Youtube page and on ANC Prestige on YT.

Hizon will talk to experts, industry leaders and personalities on how to navigate the business landscape.

Hizon, however, is not saying goodbye to SM Investments Corp.

He is just stepping down as senior vice president but will remain a consultant for the Sy-led group, one of the leading Philippine companies invested in market-leading businesses in retail, banking and property.

One of his tasks is to continue to strengthen the SM in Focus YouTube channel, featuring the latest stories on the SM Group’s sustainability initiatives, social good programs and business innovations.

Another first for Nickel Asia

Listed mining company Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC) is taking another step in its digital and long-term sustainability journey.

NAC has partnered with board portal provider Azeus Convene ESG to go digital in adopting an innovative approach to handling data, especially toward environmental, social and governance.

Under this collaboration, NAC will digitalize data related to greenhouse gases, water consumption and safety hours as well as create a baseline to achieve net zero carbon by 2050.  NAC assistant vice president for sustainability Edwin Nerva said all the data to be collected in real-time will give them a clearer picture “of where we are right now and where we want to go moving forward to be better as a company.”
