LBC leverages AI to ramp up services

MANILA, Philippines — LBC Express is leveraging the expertise of the PLDT Group in improving logistics and customer services with the use of artificial intelligence (AI)–backed platform for monitoring parcel movement.

Through a partnership signed recently with PLDT Enterprise and its information and communications technology (ICT) arm ePLDT, LBC will be using FlutterFlow, a digital platform powered by AI.

Using this platform will allow LBC to maintain and enhance applications that cater to delivery riders and customers.

“We are confident that we can collaboratively empower LBC to achieve their goals in today’s digital world through our extensive pool of outcome-based multi-cloud solutions,” ePLDT president and CEO Victor Genuino said in a statement.

The demand for logistics services has been on the rise due to growth in the e-commerce sector. A study by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Co. projects the Philippines’ e-commerce sector will be worth $22 billion by 2025.

Along with this, LBC has been beefing up its operations with the construction of a new warehouse, importation and installation of a sorting machine, and land acquisition.

The company mainly generates revenues from logistics services, which include domestic and international courier and freight forwarding services by way of air, sea, and ground transport.

Another revenue stream is money transfer business such as remittance services, bills payment collection, and corporate remittance payout services. —TYRONE JASPER C. PIAD
