Megaworld Lifestyle Malls dominates at the 2024 Retail Asia Awards

Philippines’ pioneer of lifestyle malls bags second Mall of the Year, Marketing Initiative of the Year and Visual Merchandising of the Year at the prestigious regional tilt

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls emerged triumphant with three major recognitions at the prestigious Retail Asia Awards 2024, stamping its class as the leading operator of premier lifestyle malls in the Philippines. 

The highlight of the awards night held in Singapore was the coveted Mall of the Year title given to the company’s pioneer lifestyle malls Eastwood City, which marked a back-to-back win in this category, following Festive Walk Iloilo’s triumph in 2023, showcasing the consistent excellence and customer-centric approach of Megaworld’s retail developments.

The Megaworld Lifestyle Malls team that recieved the award for the coveted Mall of the Year were Tinay Villanueva, SAVP & head of Brand, Creatives, and Marketing_ Lorence Aurelio, Tyrone Tan, Denisse Malong, and Glenn Reyes

Additionally, the company clinched the Marketing Initiative of the Year for the second consecutive year, with its entry “Reinventing the Silver Screen: Inside Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ Uptown Tempur Cinema.” The Uptown Tempur Cinema was recognized for its innovative approach to revitalizing the cinema experience, combining luxurious comfort with state-of-the-art technology to attract audiences back to theaters, leading to impressive financial success and a significant boost in market share.

Along with the consecutive victories in the aforementioned categories, the Visual Merchandising of the Year award was given to the entry “Newport Mall-seum: The Cultural Renaissance of the Retail Space.” The Newport Mall-seum became the largest museum-in-a-mall attraction in the Philippines, enabling guests and tourists to explore one of the widest and most diverse art collections for inspiration, learning, and enjoyment. Its pioneering fusion of art, culture, and commerce transformed the retail experience into a community engagement activity while supporting local artists, a visionary approach to retail innovation. From over 1,000 paintings, sculptures, sustainable art, and more, the museum provided an open and accessible venue for more than 150 budding and topnotch Filipino artists to showcase their best works. This initiative brought Filipino art closer to the mall-going public, art enthusiasts, and students, making art an integral part of everyday life and enriching the cultural landscape of the community.
