Razon’s MORE Power upgrades Iloilo facilities
Iloilo power distributor MORE Electric and Power Corp. has energized the 30/36-megavolt ampere (MVA) New Megaworld Substation, which will boost the city’s power capacity and reliability.
In a statement, MORE Power said the substation located in Iloilo Business Park was equipped with a digital interface for connection to smart grid application, and an online dissolved gas analyzer for all gases.
“The energization of the substation marks a significant milestone for MORE Power, in fulfilling its mandate of providing reliable and cost-efficient electric power distribution service to Iloilo City. We are fully committed to the upgrading of the power infrastructures here to meet the needs of our customers and support the economic growth of the city,” said MORE Power president and CEO Roel Castro.
The project is the firm’s first permanent substation since taking over operations in 2020. It also features a self-dehydrating breather, modernized overcurrent protection relays that ensure “more robust and reliable” power supply, and a transformer differential protection.
With the substation’s strategic location and a more reliable power supply, MORE Power stressed that this could make the business park and surrounding areas an ideal place for firms looking to invest in Iloilo City. INQ
