Easing of TNVS franchising rules to generate more jobs, says group
MANILA, Philippines — An alliance of transport networking vehicle service (TNVS) groups hailed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) move to ease the requirements in applying for franchises as it will help generate more jobs.
This came after the LTFRB over the weekend removed the Certificate of Conformity (COC) requirement for securing a vehicle franchise for TNVS.
In a Facebook post on Monday, TNVS CommUNITY expressed thanks to LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III and members of the LTFRB Board “for heeding to our call to ease the process of applying for a new Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) for encumbered units.”
“With this favorable development, our dream of reliably serving the riding public and generating more jobs for the Filipinos with ease is a step closer to turning into reality,” TNVS CommUNITY representative and TNVS Alliance PH chairperson Aylene Paguio said.
The TNVS CommUNITY is composed of several of the largest TNVS organizations in the country, such as TNVS Alliance PH, Transport Vehicle Representatives, TNVS Community Council Leaders, TNVS Individual 1 Alliance, Unity of Leaders for TNVS Community, the Philippine Metropolitan Transport Group, and the TNVS News Community.
In LTFRB Board Resolution No. 05 Series of 2023 released Saturday, the agency said that dropping the COC from the application process was part of its “commitment” to comply with the objectives of Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Delivery Service Act of 2018.
