MANILA, Philippines – The country’s premier publication for the advertising and brand communication industry, adobo magazine, repeats the feat it achieved in 2010 by winning the Award of the Year at the 11th Philippine Quill Award.

Considered the Grand Prix for business communication, the award was presented at the gala held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila in Quezon City on Nov. 28, 2011.

The Philippine Quill Awards is the local edition of the global Quills, given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). The awards fall into 27 categories given out in three divisions: Communication Management, Communication Skills and Communication Creative. This year’s winning entry centered on Publication Design in the Communication Creative category, leveraging on the magazine’s recent redesign.

“Winning the top award last year was such a great honor and this one is even more so,” says adobo magazine’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Angel Guerrero. “A small team such as ours is proud to be seen in the same league as the top corporations in terms of communication, which is indeed our lifeblood. We have always wanted to lead on both print and digital by championing creativity and effectiveness. This award validates our purpose and our work.”

Guerrero said, “In a way our win highlights the importance of design in business. It is something the ad industry we serve has long known and we want to be true to that.”
