As the world honors everyday heroes who spend time, effort, and even money to do good deeds through volunteerism, Globe underscores the importance of empowering its employees and the public to contribute positively by giving them opportunities to participate in volunteering activities despite the pandemic.

This year has challenged everyone to adapt to new ways of conducting daily activities including how to help communities in need of support.  As a result, Globe has pivoted its volunteering  efforts  by enabling its employees and customers to share their talents and resources from the safety of their homes.

Likewise, Globe employees did not hesitate to send in-kind donations to support the needs of fellow employees and vendor partners who were affected by typhoon Ulysses which devastated communities in Metro Manila and various parts of Luzon.  Different teams within the company were also quick to mobilize Libreng Tawag/Libreng Charging/Libreng WiFi as well as arrange logistics for the distribution of relief packs to more than 16,000 families who suffered from the onslaught of several typhoons that hit the country one after the other.

Through its donation channels and engagement programs, Globe subscribers were able to raise Php1,954,750 worth of Globe Rewards points for Ayala Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation which were used for disaster response benefitting the victims of typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.

On the other hand, over 1,800 customers of Globe Platinum, the country’s premier postpaid brand, have joined Globe in its Thank-A-Hero Program (https://www.globe.com.ph/platinum/thank-a-hero.html). The program, which will last until Christmas, honors the hard work of the country’s frontliners by providing them with tokens as a sign of gratitude. From initially sending sweet treats to frontliners, Globe Platinum customers will now be able to help those working hard on Christmas eve to celebrate Noche Buena with individual meals that will be delivered to eight hospitals around the country.

As a purpose-driven company, Globe remains committed to the 10 UN Global Compact principles and contributes to 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
