Design firm named for interior of new Clark airport terminal
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The private consortium that runs Clark International Airport (CRK) on Wednesday (Oct. 14) announced that it has appointed Populous, an award-winning global design company, as the lead interior designer of its recently-completed passenger terminal building.
In a statement, the Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD) said Populous specializes in designing interiors of places of mass congregation including those for sports and entertainment, arenas and airports.
Its projects included the Kansai Airport in Japan, Zhuhai International Airport in China, Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium in London and the Philippine Arena.
LIPAD said Populous will work with Casas+Architects.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade has scheduled the operations of the new passenger terminal in January 2021. It was designed to handle 12 million passengers yearly.
