AirAsia: No charges for travel date changes on bookings before March 12-Apr 14

MANILA, Philippines — AirAsia Philippines on Friday said it will not impose penalties on clients who would choose to change the dates of their domestic and international travels.

In a statement, the management of AirAsia said guests with bookings issued prior to March 12 until April 14 may choose the following options:

Move flight: One-time flight change to a new travel date on the same route within 90 calendar days from the original flight time without additional cost, subject to seat availability; OR

Credit account: Retain the value of your fare in your AirAsia BIG Loyalty account for future travel with AirAsia. The online credit account is to be redeemed for booking within 365 calendar days from the issuance date for your travel with us. The actual travel dates can be after the expiry date as long as our flight schedule is out.

As the Philippine government raised its public health alert level to Code Red Sub-Level 2, entry travel restrictions were implemented for countries with localized transmission of the coronavirus disease case. But the government has yet to issue guidelines to clarify the implementation of this travel ban.

Code Red Sub-Level 2 indicates evidence of COVID-19 community transmission and prevalence that was beyond what the country can address.
