Spanish giant Zara opens online store in PH

Expanding its e-commerce presence, the SSI Group launched on Wednesday the online store of Spanish fashion house Zara, one of the international brands under its portfolio.

The complete collections for women, men and kids were made available online across the market on Oct. 23, SSI said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange.

As digital transactions pick up pace in the country similar to trends overseas, Zara now gives customers the option to have their orders delivered at home or at accessible drop points across the Philippines or through in-store pickup.

Deliveries will be made within one to seven working days. Within Metro Manila, deliveries can be made in one to three days.

The online store was alaunched through a dedicated website: www.zara.com/ph.

When browsing online, customers may also check the availability of items at any of the Zara stores in the Philippines or also see recommended products.

Customers can also return purchased items free of charge at stores or through home collection within a 30-day period.

Zara’s online store is designed to operate on any mobile device, using any browser or through its app, available in both iOS and Android versions. Payments can be made on delivery or through credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay and Paypal.

In the Philippines, Zara is exclusively distributed by SSI unit International Specialty Concepts.

Apart from Zara, the group also operates e-commerce sites for Gap, Banana Republic, Beauty Bar, Lacoste, Payless, Superga, Dune London and Lush.

The group has also expanded into the hospitality industry with restaurant concepts SaladStop!, Shake Shack and Crystal Jade, which is opening in the first quarter of 2020.

SSI is also the first specialty retail company to receive the economics dividend for gender equality certification in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia, as it seeks to promote gender balance and an inclusive workplace culture.
