Insular Life elects former SSS president and CEO as independent trustee

Emmanuel F. Dooc was recently elected independent trustee to the Board of Trustees of Insular Life.

Dooc was president and CEO of the Social Security System (SSS) until March 2019.

Dooc is now part of our Board because we will definitely benefit from his wise counsel, given his long years of experience and outstanding record in the insurance industry,” said Nina D. Aguas, executive chair of Insular Life, the country’s largest Filipino life insurance company.

Dooc is a distinguished veteran in the life insurance industry. He served as the insurance commissioner from 2011 to 2016. He has had extensive experience in the insurance operations, compliance and governance.

He is a master fellow and fellow of Life Office Management and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

He attended the Executive Program for Senior Government Officials at the JFK School of Government in Harvard and designated the honorary insurance commissioner of Louisiana in 2015.

Dooc earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College.
