Seaoil cuts diesel, gas prices by P1 per liter
MANILA, Philippines—Seaoil Philippines is again slashing prices of diesel and premium and unleaded gasoline by another P1 a liter effective Tuesday, in response to the government’s call to extend fuel assistance to both motorists and the transport sector.
The latest price reduction, which is on top of the P2-per-liter price rollback implemented on Sunday, is taking effect between May 24 and May 26, according to a Seaoil official statement.
This means that over the next three days, Seaoil is cutting prices of premium and unleaded gasoline by a total of P3 per liter and of diesel by P1.50 a liter in all of the company’s over 180 stations nationwide. The oil firm has also lowered prices for regular gasoline by P 1.75 per liter and kerosene by 30 centavos per liter.
Participating Seaoil stations are also accepting Pantawid Pasada Cards (fuel-subsidy cards) in support of the Public Transport Assistance Program (PTAP), which was initiated by the Department of Energy (DoE) in rresponse to the rising oil prices triggered by the current crises in the Middle East and North Africa. The DoE has already distributed over 40,000 cards to jeepney drivers and operators in Metro Manila and Dagupan, Pangasinan. Tricycle franchisees nationwide will also benefit from the program.
Seaoil claims to be the first independent fuel company to put up a gasoline retail station in 1997, following the deregulation of the country’s downstream oil industry. It has since aggressively expanded its retail network and has become the country’s largest independent fuel firm establishing gasoline stations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
