Geraldine Samson named Montgomery Fitch + Yangon head
Montgomery Fitch COO Geraldine Samson was recently appointed Regional Director for the global creative agency’s upcoming foray into the Myanmar market. The agency is aiming to bring its diverse portfolio of communications and technology services into a burgeoning and rapidly emerging market with a World Bank- projected 7.1% growth rate over the next three years.
Samson is the emblematic “Employee No.1” of Montgomery Fitch, having been the startup’s very first employee hire during its inception. Armed with a background in business development honed with some of the biggest client-side companies in the region, she led the agency’s acquisitions team for several years before being vested as a managing partner in 2015. She is in charge of day-to- day operational workflow at the agency, including oversight over regional offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane within her portfolio.
Montgomery Fitch is poised to bring its regional credentials into Yangon, having worked with top-tier brands and campaigns across the Asia-Oceania region. The agency has confirmed that it is involved in exploratory talks with several potential clients within the branding, digital and content creation space.
Salient details of the agency’s domestic partnership in Myanmar remain undisclosed, although initial reports suggest that the firm has been in advanced talks with an established Yangon-based consortium with holdings in multiple industry verticals. ADVT
