Exatech extends support to DBTC underprivileged youth

Excellence Appliance Technologies, Inc. (Exatech), Philippine distributor of world-class kitchen and home appliance brands such as Whirlpool and Fujidenzo, recently inked a partnership with Don Bosco Technical College – Technical Vocational Education and Training Center (DBTC-TVET) in Mandaluyong City.

DBTC, a private Catholic educational institution, offers all-boys elementary and an academic and technical curriculum junior high school education, co-educational senior high and tertiary education, as well as vocational training for out-of-school youth.

The TVET Center was established in 1971 primarily to assist the youth of various communities by offering technical vocational training in order to equip them with the skills requirement of the industry. In line with the mission of Don Bosco, the students undergo an intensive values formation program to form them into responsible members of their communities.

As part of its CSR and advocacy program, Exatech will be sponsoring 10 scholars under the course Ref and Aircon Mechanic (RAC Servicing DomRAC NC II). This program concentrates on the importance of basic principles of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology. It provides training on servicing and maintenance, installations and repairs of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, components and parts.

“Our company believes that education is an important step in providing the youth with a life full of possibility and opportunity,” says John Sioco, Operations Director of Exatech. “Through our strong commitment to excellence, we are very optimistic about the partnership and very excited in being able to help turn around the lives of many students,” added Sioco.

As part of the agreement, the scholars funded by Exatech will be taking their internship at the head office, and eligible candidates will automatically have employment opportunities with the company after graduation. Appliances were also donated to the school as part of the partnership.
