3M picks PH for its 3rd global service center
3M Philippines is set to unveil today its General Service Center (GSC) in Taguig City, to mark the firm’s expansion to the business of technical service provision.
The Philippine GSC, which is seen to generate about 800 jobs, is said to be the first of the two major investments that the Minnesota-based 3M Corp. is planning for the country this year.
3M said the GSC here, which will provide services to all countries in Asia Pacific, is one of only three 3M service centers globally. The Manila branch is expected to partner with the two other GSCs—one in Poland and the other in Costa Rica—to provide round-the-clock global service.
It said it had chosen the Philippines for the new GSC facility due to the country’s strategic advantages, including the availability of well-qualified workforce.
The opening of the 3M GSC will be graced by ranking officials of 3M international, 3M Asia Pacific and 3M Southeast Asia.
