PAL celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 15, with Taiwan being one of the international destinations the company began operating out of after its first 10 years of business. Its first flight to Taipei was a DC3 that arrived on Nov 16, 1951. PAL will be celebrating its 65th year of presence in Taiwan at the end of this year and will introduce a new daily TPE-OSA flight and added frequencies to the Philippines, according to the company.

Passengers traveling between Taiwan and the Philippines showed very good growth last year and in the first quarter of this year. Numbers were even greater for those departing from Taiwan to Japan, which continues to be the number one destination from Taiwan, the company stated.

PAL is confident that with its additional services and extensive network expansion, it will see even greater growth in traffic, both leisure and business, from Taiwan to the Philippines and Japan, the company said.
