Chevrolet Philippines Posts Record Early 2014 Sales
MANILA, Philippines – After posting ground breaking figures last year, Chevrolet Philippines continues to deliver impressive growth in sales for the first two months of 2014. Chevrolet’s January and February 2014 figures have shown a 70% increase, with a total 1,298 unit sales compared to 760 units sold during the same time in 2013. Chevrolet also posted a Philippine automotive industry ranking of 7th overall in January 2014.
Chevrolet unit sales ranked 9th overall in the Philippine automotive industry with 5,058 unit sales in 2013, which is considered its most successful year after posting 52% growth from 2012. In 2012, it ranked 10th and grew by 20% with a steady momentum and made for a perfect foundation for the many exciting developments for the brand in the Philippines.
The ‘Bowtie,’ as it has come to be known and loved, has steadily grown to capture a significant share of the local automotive market through innovative products and equally excellent service. These are part of the brand’s promise to “Find New Roads.”

The boost in early 2014 sales can be attributed to the success of the Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Chevrolet Colorado in penetrating the local mid-sized sport utility vehicle (SUV) and compact pick-up truck markets. The two models are the first and third among the brand’s best-selling units.
The Trailblazer and the Colorado are now equipped with an improved Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine which comes in a 2.5-liter and 2.8-liter variants. Both models feature an upgraded Powertrain, with the bigger engine displacement can now produce a maximum of 200HP and 500 Nm of torque. Both the Colorado and the Trailblazer come with a special 3-year overall warranty plus a 2-year extended warranty for the powertrain, or 100,000 kilometers (whichever comes first). This provides customers with a worry-free ownership experience.
Also holding one of the top rungs of Chevrolet’s best-selling units is the Chevrolet Spin. The 7-seater All-around Utility Vehicle (AUV) Chevrolet Spin provides impressive road performance and fuel efficiency with its 1.3-liter CRDi Turbo-Diesel engine and 1.5-liter Dual VVTi gasoline engine variants.
The Chevrolet SPIN is equipped with several comfort and convenience features such as flexible 2nd and 3rd row seat configurations, Bluetooth audio streaming and 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode option for the 1.5 LTZ gas variant. The Chevrolet Spin is unlike any other compact van, as it is built with a sporty sleek design that breaks the traditional utilitarian look. With its dual-port front grille, muscular and imposing lines it projects a modern and distinctive presence.
