MANILA, Philippines—Chevron, one of the world’s leading energy firms, has forged an agreement with The Bosch Group to jointly open 500 car service workshops and retail shops across five countries in the region, including the Philippines.
This move will allow customers of Chevron to enjoy premium car care services for their motoring needs, the energy company said in a statement issued Wednesday.
Chevron, which distributes products under the international brand Caltex, and Bosch, a leading global supplier of automotive parts and diagnostic equipment, sealed the partnership with the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement, which paved the way for the mutual exchange of “world-renowned automotive know-how” and “energy-efficient technology.”
Under the agreement, Chevron and Bosch will tap each other’s respective technical expertise and customer base. The Bosch Car Service workshops at Caltex service stations will provide services to various brands of vehicles, offering diagnosis, maintenance and repair. Caltex Lubricants and Bosch Automotive Aftermarket products and parts will also be sold at Caltex service stations where Bosch Car Service workshops are located.
These workshops will be set up in a total of 500 Caltex gas stations in select sites in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia, over the next five years. It was, however, not made clear how many of these workshops will be put up in each country.
“With the expansion of the Bosch Car Service footprint across Southeast Asia, motorists will appreciate the accessibility of a diverse range of reliable, quality automotive maintenance and repair solutions with the proximity of Caltex service stations,” Martin Hayes, president of Bosch in Southeast Asia, said in the press statement.
“Furthermore, our Bosch Car Service network partners can look forward to new business opportunities and a great diversity of product offerings backed by a global network, long-standing experience and world-class technical competencies in the automotive sectors from both companies,” Hayes added.
Peng Xiaofei, vice president for Asia Pacific products of Chevron, noted in the same press release that the partnership with Bosch “demonstrates the commitment from both companies to provide customers with the best experience on the road. Our motorists will benefit from the combination of Bosch’s automotive engineering expertise and our long-standing energy efficiency solutions.”
“We look forward to this collaboration with Bosch and believe this will be the start of a strong and fruitful partnership,” Xiaofei said.
