Ford sales up in Oct. on wide lineup

MANILA, Philippines–Ford Philippines set a record performance in October as dealerships nationwide widened their lineup with the availability of new and existing models.

October sales jumped nearly 50 percent year on year to 1,248 units from 834 in the same month last year, according to a Ford report.

“Customer response to our newly launched One Ford vehicles has been exceptional. Segment-leading vehicles like the all-new Ranger, the technology packed all-new Focus, the all-new Explorer with EcoBoost and the iconic Ford Mustang are really helping widen the appeal of the Ford brand to so many new-to-Ford customers,” said Ford Philippines president Randy Krieger.

Ford said its sales momentum grew in recent months with the availability of the four newly launched vehicles.

October was also the best-ever month for the Ford Ranger pickup. The company said the “class-defining, all-new Ranger” delivered sales that jumped 213 percent from the previous generation truck last year to 282 units. This helped drive year-on-year growth for October.
