Hong Kong stocks open 1.02 percent higher

HONG KONG–Hong Kong stocks opened up 1.02 percent on Friday after Wall Street posted solid gains on upbeat US economic data.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 222.80 points to 22,044.67 in the first minutes of trade, helped by the positive figures on US manufacturing, consumer confidence and weekly jobless claims.
