NYSE to remain shut Tuesday due to storm

NEW YORK—The New York Stock Exchange said it would remain shut down for a second day Tuesday as Hurricane Sandy bore down on the city, threatening high winds and flooding.

“We intend to re-open our US markets on Wednesday, Oct 31, 2012, conditions permitting; updates will be provided tomorrow,” exchange operator NYSE Euronext said in a statement Monday afternoon.
