Tupperware Brands Philippines is banking on its new products and wider network of sales people to grow its business in the country.
“We would like to spread out the opportunity for direct selling…. That will drive our growth next year, aside from our portfolio of new products,” said Celeste Torres, chief finance officer of Tupperware.
Torres said that the flagship Tupperware brand, which features the popular food containers, is still the fastest-growing among the company’s array of products.
However, growth has also been noted in its fragrance brand Ivana, and baby care brand Baby Care Plus, she added.
Products in cosmetics, skin care, personal care, intimate apparel and accessories are also offered by other brands under Tupperware such as Colour Collection, Circus, Playtex, Wonderbra and Hanes.
“We’d like to introduce more innovative products in the Tupperware brand, beauty and baby care,” Torres said in an interview after the opening ceremonies of the Direct Selling Exhibit Friday.
According to Charmane Abad, Tupperware marketing director, the company’s latest cookware collection launched last September sold five times more than the initial estimated sales.
The new line, made with special grade stainless steel, is specially designed to cook with less water to preserve the natural flavor of the ingredients.
Further, the company plans to hold more recruiting events to spread out the opportunity for direct selling across the country, Torres said, noting the need to train sellers on how to effectively pitch their products.
“We’d like to expand our network and reach more people. We’ll have more events to showcase the opportunities,” Torres said.—Ana G. Roa
