SM Malls’ rewards program SM Advantage has joined Asia Miles, allowing members of both rewards programs to convert points gained from shopping in SM’s Philippine retail chain into airline mileage.
In a letter sent to members, Asia Miles announced that with SM joining Asia Miles, SM Advantage card holders could now convert their card points to Asia Miles at the rate of one point per mile. The program was also extended to SM Prestige and BDO Rewards Card members.
One must be an existing member of both SM Advantage and Asia Miles to convert the points. A minimum of 200 points is required to convert.
Asia Miles has 20 airline partners around the world, including Cathay Pacific and Dragonair.
SM Advantage is SM’s customer loyalty program that rewards members with points every time they shop in SM department stores and supermarkets, SM Hypermarket and other SM retail establishments inside and outside the SM supermalls. The points earned can be used to redeem anything sold in any of those stores.
Aside from reward points, SM Advantage also offers members-only privileges such as exclusive sales, discounts and freebies inside and outside SM malls.
Based on Asia Miles’ advisory, processing of request for points-to-miles conversion will take seven business days. Requests for conversion, once made, may no longer be canceled. A member will be notified via e-mail within seven business days on whether the request for conversion is successful or not.
Members may contact SM Advantage hotline at 8338888 for Metro Manila or 1-800-10-8888 for areas outside Metro Manila to request for conversion to Asia Miles. Doris C. Dumlao
