MANILA, Philippines—SM Malls’ rewards program, SM Advantage, has joined Asia Miles, allowing members of both reward programs to convert points gained from shopping in SM’s vast Philippine retail chain into airline mileage.
In a letter sent to members, Asia Miles announced that with SM joining Asia Miles, SM Advantage card points can now convert their card points to Asia Miles at the rate of one point per mile. This program is also extended to SM Prestige and BDO Rewards Card members.
One must be an existing member of both SM Advantage and Asia Miles to convert the points. A minimum of 200 points is required to convert.
Asia Miles has 20 airline partners around the world, including Cathay Pacific and Dragonair.
SM Advantage is SM’s customer loyalty program that rewards members with points every time they shop in SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and other SM retail establishments inside and outside SM Supermalls. The points earned can be used for discounts on anything sold in any of those stores.
Aside from reward points, SM Advantage also offers members-only privileges such as exclusive sales, discounts and freebies inside and outside SM Malls.
According to Asia Miles’ advisory, processing of request for points-to-miles conversion would take seven business days. Requests for conversion, once made, may no longer be cancelled. A member will be notified via email within seven business days if the request for conversion has been accepted or not.
Members may contact the SM Advantage hotline at 833-8888 for Metro Manila or 1-800-10-8888 for areas outside Metro Manila to request for conversion to Asia Miles.
