BCDA bids out Taguig City assets

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) successfully auctioned off two assets in Taguig City and the winners will be announced next month, an official said.

BCDA vice president Nena Radoc said in a phone interview that there were several bids received for the 3,099-square-meter Eastgate parking facility in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and the 1,224-sqm Sampaguita East Ramp lot in Fort Bonifacio.

“For Eastgate, there were five proponents who bought bid documents and three submitted bids. All the bids were above the P122 million minimum bid price and the highest was P190 million,” Radoc said.

The BCDA will conduct post-qualification or verification of the prospective winning bidders, she said.

“For Sampaguita, out of 10 that bought bid documents, five submitted. All five bids were higher than the minimum floor price of P28.5 million. The highest bid was P47.55 million,” Radoc said.

The Eastgate parking facility is fit for institutional use such as putting up a school, hospital, or government office, according to BCDA officials. The Sampaguita property can accommodate mixed-use (residential, commercial, institutional) development.

The bidding for the Eastgate parking facility was held on August 23 and that for the Sampaguita property was on August 24.

Earlier, the BCDA declared the failure of the bidding for the Nichols loop property, which is fit for institutional use, as only one bid was submitted during the August 22 auction. Rebidding may be held next month.

BCDA vice president for operations Dean Santiago earlier said in a text message that three companies bought bid documents. Of the three, only one, which the official did not identify, submitted a bid on time. One other bid was apparently submitted on the same day but had missed the deadline.

The Nichols property that was auctioned off covered a 5,005-sqm driving range and the 5,389-sqm Nichols Loop in Pasay City. Bids were to start at P89.59 million.
