MANILA, Philippines—The passage through Northern Luzon of tropical storm “Helen” led to the cancellation of at least six flights at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Wednesday.
The Manila International Airport Authority, state operator of NAIA, said the flights were to or from airports in the Cagayan Valley region.
These were Cebu Pacific flight 5J-504 to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and its return trip, 5J-505; and Air Philippines Express flight 2P-014, also to Tuguegarao, and its return trip, 2P-015. Cebu Pacific also canceled flight 5J-196 to Cauayan City, Isabela, and its return trip, 5J-197.
All the flights, except 5J-505, were supposed to depart from or return to NAIA in the morning.
Cebu Pacific said on its website travelers from canceled flights were to be accommodated in next available flights. They may also choose to rebook within 30 days and without paying any penalty.
Six other flights of Cebu Pacific, AirPhil Express and Philippine Airlines were also canceled due to technical and mechanical problems, according to the MIAA.
