Shell to hold off price increase in flood-stricken areas

MANILA, Philippines—Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. will freeze any possible increases in the prices of petroleum products next week in areas affected by the recent monsoon rains and heavy flooding.

The price freeze will be in effect for a week in Metro Manila, Rizal, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite and Tarlac.

“The move will hopefully help alleviate the current predicament many of our countrymen find themselves in where they have to manage the impact of floods and rains,” said Roberto Kanapi, Pilipinas Shell vice president for communications.
