The local fund management community has voted Deutsche Regis Partners as “Best Equities House” and ING Bank as the “Best Fixed Income House” for 2012.
The Fund Managers Association of the Philippines (FMAP)—an influential institutional investor community with 46 members and a combined P4 trillion worth of assets under management—surveys its members each year to pick the best equities and fixed income houses. The 12th annual FMAP Awards took place Wednesday night.
For the first time, the fund management community also gave this year a “Company of the Year” Award, which was won by Ayala Corp. This award is based on the following criteria: corporate governance and transparency, access to shareholders and strong financial statements.
“The FMAP Awards gives recognition to the ‘sell side analysts’ and sales people who are judged by the fund management community as the best of the best in their respective sectors of coverage,” FMAP president Michael Ferrer said.
“The importance of the role of analysts grows as the Philippines emerges as a preferred inevstment destination in the global stage,” said Ferrer.
