Air passenger rights up for review

Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas

MANILA, Philippines—Public hearings on the proposed passenger bill of rights, which aim to address alleged abusive practices of budget airlines, are set to start this week, said the Department of Transportation and Communications.

Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas said the interagency bill of rights, drafted together with the Trade and Industry, and Tourism departments would be made public in the coming days.

“Public hearings will start [this] week, meaning the draft we worked on will be presented to stakeholders for comment,” Roxas said.

The joint administrative order will follow recently issued resolutions by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).
