Expect lower electric bills in the coming months—Meralco

MANILA, Philippines—Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga explained in an interview over Radyo Inquirer early Thursday why consumers paid higher electric bills in the month of June.

He said there was a sudden spike or adjustment in the generation charge because of the hot summer months, when people used a lot of cooling appliances like electric fans, air-conditioning system and refrigerators.

He assured this will change in the coming days due to the cold season, a time when consumers have low consumption of electricity.
