Filipinos remain optimistic about economy—SWS survey

MANILA, Philippines—Optimism among Filipinos in terms of the quality of their lives and the country’s economy remains “high,” results of a recent Social Weather Stations survey showed.

The poll, conducted from March 10-13, found 36 percent of the respondents expecting a better life in the next 12 months while 8 percent said they were expecting the contrary, for a net personal optimism score of plus 28 which SWS classified as “high.”

The results also showed that 28 percent of the respondents expect a rosier economy in the coming year against the 22 percent who felt otherwise for a net score of +6, which SWS tagged as “high.”
