SEAir expands to 7 cities, offers seat sale

MANILA, Philippines – South East Asian Airlines (SEAir) has announced its expansion of domestic operations to seven cities nationwide.

SEAir will offer three daily flights to Cebu starting July 31, 2012. It will also launch two daily flights to Davao (August 18), and daily flights to Tacloban (August 1), Iloilo (August 2), Puerto Princesa (August 3), Boracay via Kalibo (August 4) and Bacolod (August 20).

In celebration of the new routes, SEAir is offering 28,000 seats at special rates starting from P595. The fares will be available for sale until June 13, 2012, for travel until Oct. 31, 2012. Travelers can avail of one-way fares from Manila to Cebu at P655, Manila to Tacloban and Puerto Princesa at P645, Manila to Iloilo and Bacolod at P699, Manila to Davao at P949, and Manila to Kalibo at P595.

“This is SEAir’s largest network expansion ever. The seven routes showcase the different paradise destinations in our country, and we are proud that SEAir can help promote the ‘More Fun in the Philippines’ campaign,” said SEAir Chief Operating Officer Patrick Tan.

The flights will operate from the Manila Domestic Airport (Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4) using five newly acquired Airbus aircraft.

“We have upgraded our fleet with new Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 144 and 180 passengers, respectively, to support the increasing demand of domestic travellers and the growing needs of NAIA,” said SEAIR president Avelino Zapanta.

“Together with our current domestic and regional flights, we expect these new routes to contribute one million passengers annually to local and regional tourism, create employment and boost commerce and industry in the seven domestic destinations,” added Zapanta.

SEAIR has also expanded its reach regionally with its services from Clark to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kota Kinabalu and Boracay (via Kalibo, Aklan).

The SEAir-Tiger Airways Partner Airline Program allows SEAir to distribute its seats through Tiger Airways’ established internet booking system, www.tigerairways.com.  Tiger Airways also recently announced the finalization of the sales and purchase agreement to purchase a 40-percent stake in SEAir.
