MANILA, Philippines — Fresh from its stock market debut, GCash operator Mynt Inc. is turning investors’ attention to its upcoming third-quarter results, which analysts expect will provide a clearer picture of its growth trajectory.
Mynt closed its first trading session at its P6.60 offer price. Abacus said the flat finish suggested price stabilization by the offering’s underwriters, although selling pressure appeared limited.

Sell order volumes stayed below half of bid volumes through most of the session, the brokerage noted.
“Conversely, local buyers seemed willing to absorb whatever foreigners were selling,” Abacus said, while acknowledging that the buying could also have come from the stabilization fund.
Abacus expects Globe Telecom Inc. to report Mynt’s third-quarter performance next month.
“The risk of a disappointment is higher because of the hype but also due to the precedent set in 2Q, which fell quarter-on-quarter,” it said.
Abacus suggested that prospective buyers wait for Globe’s earnings release or briefing, which it expects in the second week of November.
COL Financial Inc., meanwhile, sees room for sustained growth as Mynt benefits from wider digital finance adoption, its large user base and expanding financial services.
The brokerage projects revenues to rise 14.9 percent to P91.7 billion in 2026, then increase 23.8 percent to P113.6 billion in 2027.
It expects higher transaction volumes and growth in the CreditTech credit portfolio to drive the expansion.
Analysts forecast that net income will climb 18 percent to P20.4 billion this year and will rise another 26.8 percent to P25.8 billion in 2027.
COL expects gross transaction value to reach P30.4 trillion by 2028, equivalent to a 21.3 percent compound annual growth rate from 2025.
It also projects Mynt’s credit portfolio to reach P132.3 billion by 2028, representing a three-year compound annual growth rate of 40.2 percent.
Fuse, a lending arm, is set to leverage the GCash ecosystem to broaden its consumer loan offerings. The platform’s transaction data also helps Mynt develop financial products suited to its customers, COL said.

For Eric Jurado, hedge fund manager at SeA Focus Portfolio, Mynt’s longer-term performance will matter more than its debut.
He said proceeds from the initial public offering and the shift to public ownership could support product development and expansion.
Users, however, would judge the company by the reliability and usefulness of its services and its ability to broaden financial access.
“The real questions are whether GCash can keep serving more customers, strengthen its competitive position, grow earnings per share, and create lasting value for its owners,” Jurado said. /pai
