MANILA, Philippines — Filinvest Group has tapped the green mobility subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) to equip its properties with solutions supporting electric vehicles (EVs).
In a statement on Wednesday, Movem Electric Inc. said the partnership would cover the deployment of EV requirements across Filinvest’s commercial, residential and office developments.

Movem is hoping the deal would entice more Filipinos to shift to electric transportation as the company provides expanded access to EV charging points.
The tie-up marks with an EV charging station at Festival Mall in Muntinlupa City, which also features a digital advertising platform.
The initiative is also supported by ChargeM, Movem’s mobile application, which enables users to access and manage their sessions.
“At Movem, we believe EV charging should fit naturally into people’s daily routines. Our partnership with Filinvest at Festival Mall brings reliable and convenient charging closer to where people live, work and spend their time,”
Movem president and CEO Ralph Menchavez said.

“As a destination where people come together for their everyday activities, Festival Mall provides a natural setting for EV charging to be part of the customer experience,” he added.
The EV segment has been showing robust momentum since the start of the Iran war, as the bombing attacks destroyed key energy infrastructure, sending global oil prices skyrocketing.
Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and Truck Manufacturers Association Inc. showed electrified vehicle sales reached 38,286 units from January to July. The figure was more than double the 16,195 units sold in the same period last year.
In July alone, EV sales surged 161.8 percent to 7,086 units from 2,707 units in the same month in 2025.
Campi president Jose Maria Atienza previously said “the shift to electrification continues to accelerate,” with EVs accounting for 29.5 percent of the overall automotive market in July. INQ
