Aboitiz, ACCIONA set up facilities management joint venture
MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Construction Inc. has teamed up with global infrastructure company Acciona to enter the integrated facilities management business in the Philippines.
The companies formed Acciona Facility Management Philippines, a joint venture that will combine Acciona’s global capabilities with Aboitiz Construction’s nationwide presence and five decades of engineering experience.

The new company will provide maintenance and technical services, business process outsourcing, logistics, support services, as well as cleaning and housekeeping.
It will target high-value and technically demanding sectors such as pharmaceuticals, industry, corporate environments and transport infrastructure across the country.
‘Strategic market’
The joint venture will also use lean methodologies, digital tools and other processes to improve operational efficiency, service quality and continuous improvement.
“Partnering with Acciona combines our strong local presence and 50 years of engineering experience with global expertise in integrated facilities management to deliver world-class solutions in the Philippines,” Aboitiz Construction president and chair Anton Mari Perdices said.
Aboitiz Construction executive director Antonio Peñalver said the company selected Acciona because of its capabilities, international expansion model and alignment with the Aboitiz unit’s values.
For Acciona, the venture boosts its footprint in the Philippines as it seeks to expand its facilities management business in Asia.

Acciona Southeast Asia Infrastructure managing director Ruben Camba described the Philippines as a strategic market and an important hub for the company’s Asian operations.
Acciona currently has facilities management operations across 10 countries, with thousands of projects under management.
Aboitiz Construction, meanwhile, has a 50-year track record spanning heavy and light industries, infrastructure and industrial maintenance.
The partners ultimately aim to build a scalable platform to capture growing local demand for integrated facility operations and asset management.
The venture is also expected to create skilled employment opportunities and support local talent development. INQ
