The group of tycoon Andrew Tan has unveiled plans to put up a new 350-room five-star hotel at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
Once completed, it will be the fifth hotel facility in the integrated tourism complex.
In a press statement on Tuesday, Tan’s Alliance Global Group announced that its unit Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. recently sealed a memorandum of understanding with a major international hotel management company to manage the fifth and newest hotel in the complex.
Resorts World Manila is located at the 25-hectare Newport City in Pasay. The fifth hotel and the four others—Marriott, Maxims, Remington and Belmont—will offer a total of 2,200 rooms.
Luxury hotel chains Marriott and Maxims are already operational, while budget hotel Remington and condotel Belmont are under construction.
Travellers International has tapped a hotel chain with a track record of managing 300,000 hotel rooms globally to manage, operate and maintain the new hotel.
“This hotel management company has several successful global brands under its belt. We at Travellers look forward to the expertise it can bring to the table,” said Travellers International president Kingson Sian. “After we conclude our final agreement over the next two months, Travellers will announce the new hotel brand. It will be no less than a five-star hotel.”
Resorts World Manila, which is near the domestic and international airports, offers world-class leisure attractions.
“We want to be a major player in the tourism industry because we are excited about its prospects in the country,” said Sian. “We will continue investing heavily in building topnotch facilities to showcase the Philippines’ natural beauty, history and culture and highlight the Filipinos’ warmth and hospitality.”
