A home is never complete without the furniture, gadgets and the appliances, among other equipment, that would make it more relaxing, convenient, appealing and, to an extent, even exciting for family members.
It is thus not surprising to see manufacturers always on their toes, trying to come up with and deliver the most innovative and intelligent products of varying makes, sizes and colors in the hopes of luring the ever-demanding consumer.
Recently, Haier, the world’s leader in major appliances, joined the bandwagon and officially launched its local subsidiary in the country, the Haier Electrical Appliances Philippines Inc., in a bid to provide the modern Filipino family with interesting home solutions.
In a briefing, officials of the Haier Group recently announced the start of its operations in the country and its goal to better serve the needs of local Filipino consumers. With the theme “Now inspiring Filipino homes,” the said event provided attendees a first glimpse of Haier’s interesting product lineup for the Filipino market.
The creation of Haier Electrical Appliances Philippines formed part of the completion of Haier Group’s acquisition of Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd.’s washing machine, refrigerator and white goods sales business in Japan and select Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam over a month ago.
Global growth strategy
“Acquiring the white goods business of Sanyo is an important part of Haier’s global growth strategy. The acquisition has laid the foundation for Haier’s strategic development in Japan and Southeast Asia,” explained Haier Group vice president and Haier Asia president Du Jingguo.
At present, Haier’s dual-brand strategy is already in full operation across the markets previously mentioned. Meanwhile, Haier Electrical Appliances Phils. will use the Haier brand and simultaneously use the “Sanyo” brand for a specific period of time.
“Our two R&D centers, four manufacturing bases and six localized marketing centers can better cater to the ever-growing and dynamic needs of
consumers in the region. As the No. 1 major appliances brand in the world, we are quite confident in the success of (our products in) the Filipino market,” Jingguo explained.
Jingguo further said that with the company’s full lineup of products, he waxed optimistic that Haier Philippines could satisfy the demand for every category and segmentation of consumer.
“Haier continues to inspire and improve Filipino homes by offering beautiful life solutions to our consumers. In the past, the Sanyo brand has offered many solutions but it was focused on the middle to low-end products. But after Haier acquired Sanyo, we now offer more solutions—this time from mid to high-end products,” Jingguo added.
Strong home solutions
Haier is now offering strong home solutions and a diverse product lineup covering both white and brown goods.
These include the French Door, Side by Side and Top Mount refrigerators with features like LED back light, cooling tower airflow system and inverter technology.
Also part of the home solutions being offered are the Front Load, Twin Tub and Dryer washing machines, which are known for their energy-efficient ratings and antibacterial treatment features.
Meanwhile, split-type air-conditioning units with intelligent airflow and negative ion features will be part of the exciting product lineup of Haier for the Philippine market. Consumers may also want to check out Haier’s LED and LCD TV, which feature the latest technology including energy savings, 3D and Internet.
Fastest solution provider
And with Haier’s strengths in innovation, quality and design combined, Jingguo is hoping to bring additional high-quality choices to consumers.
“I believe that with Haier’s comprehensive advantage of a strong R&D department, sourcing competitiveness, its big production capacity, we can better serve the needs of the Filipino consumers,” Jingguo noted.
He added that Haier’s factories within the Asean region will, meanwhile, ensure sufficient and prompt supply of products to meet the local demand.
