AC Logistics, Globe launch MCX warehouse tie-up

MANILA, Philippines – Ayala-led firms AC Logistics and Globe Telecom Inc. have launched their partnership for a Muntinlupa warehouse, where the latter plans to store its trade materials such as SIMs.
In a statement on Monday, the two firms said their partnership would allow Globe to tap the AC Logistics-managed MCX Warehouse in Muntinlupa for the storage of trade materials, SIMs, devices and retail collateral.

“This partnership strengthens a critical part of our operation, ensuring that Globe products reach our customers and partners with consistency and speed,” said Carlo Puno, chief financial officer at Globe.
The warehouse is located along the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX), which is near Metro Manila and Calabarzon, making it a strategic hub for Globe, the firms said.
With the partnership, Globe has effectively identified AC Logistics as its preferred warehousing partner, tasking the firm with the inbound receiving, storage, inventory management and outbound distribution of its trade materials.
“Supporting Globe’s nationwide operations allows us to demonstrate the optimized strength of AC Logistics’ contract logistics and national distribution capabilities,” said Irma Diaz-Guevara, product head of AC Logistics Contract Logistics and National Distribution.
Inventory accuracy
“At the MCX Warehouse, our teams are committed to ensuring 100% inventory accuracy, efficient order processing, and excellent customer service across every segment of the supply chain,” Diaz-Guevara added.
The MCX Warehouse was inaugurated on Feb. 16 in a ceremony attended by officials led by AC Logistics President and CEO Erry Hardianto, Puno and Diaz-Guevara.
The partnership comes as Globe comes off a strong year for its mobile business, with revenues from the segment hitting a record P116.9 billion.
Mobile data revenues alone climbed 4 percent to P101.2 billion.
Over the past year, Globe grew its mobile subscriber base by 8 percent to 65.8 million, while mobile data users increased to 39.2 million.
For its part, AC Logistics remains largely owned by Ayala Corp. despite the parent firm selling 40 percent of its stake to EMIF II SPV, an investment vehicle of the Danish logistics giant AP Moller.
