EEI opens Tesda-accredited training academy in Cavite
MANILA, Philippines — EEI Corp. has opened a new Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda)-accredited training hub in Cavite as part of its push to upskill the construction workforce and support long-term capacity building.
In a statement on Wednesday, the listed construction firm said it had officially inaugurated the EEI Training Academy, a nearly three-hectare, state-of-the-art facility located in Tanza, Cavite.
EEI said the academy was a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge and competencies of its Filipino craft workers and professional staff, allowing the company to deliver projects more efficiently and sustainably amid a fast-evolving construction landscape.
The facility can accommodate up to 500 participants and will offer holistic training programs designed for construction-related roles and responsibilities.

‘Nurturing talent’
“The Academy reflects our vision to not only attract the best talent, but also to nurture and retain them,” said EEI Training Academy president Jesus Teodoro Reyes.
He added that while EEI was known for building physical foundations, it was equally committed to establishing a strong foundation for its human capital.

Training offerings include industry-caliber workshops for welding, civil works and modular structures for mechanical and electrical works.
Civil works courses cover carpentry, masonry, tile setting and rebar works, while mechanical training includes mill wrighting, tank fitting as well as structural and steel works.
Other programs span welding technology, rigging, pipe fitting, plumbing, scaffolding, painting, tinsmith works and heavy equipment operation.

Values formation
Beyond technical upskilling, the academy also integrates values formation, alongside professional development, supervisory training, safety-related courses and construction and project management programs.
As a Tesda-accredited center, the academy will follow Tesda training regulations, ensuring competency-based education aligned with national occupational standards.
EEI training academy vice president Victor Evidente said the initiative would help the company remain adaptive, innovative and competitive while empowering its workforce for long-term growth.
Facilities at the academy include the Jaime V. Ongpin Building, the two-storey Saint Joseph Building, training barracks, recreation areas and a material recovery facility. /dda
