Cavitex toll rate hikes take effect on Oct. 28

MANILA, Philippines — The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved toll rate increases for the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), which will take effect Oct. 28.

In a statement, the Cavitex operator said that the adjustments are intended to ensure continued maintenance, safety and improvement of the expressway.

To aid the most affected sectors by the hike, registered public utility vehicles (PUV) and agricultural trucks shall pay the old rates for 90 more days.

Rate changes that apply to the Cavitex R1 portion from Seaside to Zapote:

Meanwhile, toll increases that apply to the Cavitex R1 Extension Segment 4 from Zapote to Kawit will be implemented in two tranches in 2025 and 2026. 

The first tranche will have:

Class 1: ₱73 to ₱88

Class 2: ₱146 to ₱176

Class 3: ₱219 to  ₱264.

The measure follows the petition filed by joint venture partners Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC) and Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) in 2020 and 2023.

Toward this, CIC and PRA completed major infrastructure projects such as the Expansion Joint Replacement at the Parañaque Segment Bridges and Imus Viaduct, RFID systems and installation of Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) upgrade.
